The Highway Department is responsible for approximately 65+ miles of roads and right-of-ways in the unincorporated areas in Bloomingdale Township. Bob and his staff remove snow and ice from the roads, cut grass along the right-of-ways in front of vacant property, maintain the drainage ditches, and maintain the road surface. The Highway Department, also, maintains and installs traffic control and street signs, and help protect the wetlands.
Special Storm Damage Branch Pickup Scheduled
Many Township homeowners have damaged and downed tree branches on private property caused by heavy snow and high winds during last week's snowstorm. The Township is offering a special storm related branch pickup starting December 17th.
Branches must be out by 7:00 am on Monday, December 17th
Crews will only make one pass down all streets to collect branches. Crews will not return if branches are not out by 7:00 am on December 17th.
The Township will collect branches that do not exceed 4 feet in length and 6 inches in diameter. Please cut branches so they are under 50 pounds and stack them with ends pointing to the street. Stumps and root balls are not allowed.
The Highway Department offers a brush pick up program for the residents of the unincorporated area of the Township.

The Highway Department issues permits for all construction projects in the unincorporated areas of the Township.
